HonorSociety.Org to Face Sanctions for Disclaimer Noncompliance

HonorSociety.Org Inc. was found in civil contempt of a district court’s injunction after it neglected to post a required disclaimer on some of its websites and placed undersized notices on its other sites.

Phi Theta Kappa, an international academic honor society, sued Honor Society in 2022 for allegedly infringing its trade dress. PTK said Honor Society has similar-looking regalia, marketing statements, and websites, and uses the mark “Career Edge,” which mimics PTK’s common law rights to the “PTK Edge” mark.
