Honeywell Beats Ex-Director’s Race Bias Suit Over Covid Job Loss

A Honeywell International Inc. business development director lacked proof he lost his job as part of a workforce reduction spurred by Covid-19 because he is Black, a federal court ruled.

There was no support for the former employee’s apparent belief that the company’s explanation for the RIF was false, the US District Court for the District of Columbia said.

The contention that his business unit—the Aerospace Americas Aftermarket—didn’t experience a business slowdown due to Covid was misplaced, the court said. Even if true, that was immaterial, Judge Emmet G. Sullivan said Thursday.
