Honey Buyers Can’t Revive False-Ad Claims Against Tennessee Farm

Consumers alleging a Tennessee farm’s advertisements that its honey was “100% raw Tennessee honey” were false failed to revive their proposed class action because their complaint lacked key details, a federal appeals court said Friday.

The plaintiffs said honey from Strange Honey Farm LLC wasn’t raw, from Tennessee, or 100% honey, but “the complaint fails to adequately allege why these claims on the labels were false or when these allegedly fraudulent statements were made to plaintiffs,” the US Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit said affirming the lower court’s dismissal.
