Honda Trims Claims in Automatic Brake System Defect Class Action

Honda Motor Co. convinced a federal judge to reject a handful of warranty claims in a proposed consumer class action alleging it knowingly sold vehicles with defective automatic emergency brake systems.

The US District Court for the Central District of California on Tuesday dismissed the warranty claims because the consumers who sued Honda didn’t allege that they gave the car company a chance to repair or replace the allegedly defective parts. Consumer protection claims can proceed.
