Honda Motor Co. Ltd allegedly infringed four of InfoGation Corporation’s patents related to global positioning system technology, according to a new lawsuit.
InfoGation says Honda infringed four patents that were issued between 1999 and 2008 in its complaint filed in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas on Tuesday. The patents protect technology related to displaying maps and wirelessly connecting to servers for real-time route data.
Honda’s personal car models that have satellite-linked navigation systems with real-time traffic features allegedly infringe these patents. Honda didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
