Honda Class Settlement Approved in Defective Bluetooth Lawsuit

A federal judge signed off on a settlement where Honda will pay a class of Acura owners up to $500 for out-of-pock expenses related to a defective Bluetooth speaker system in some vehicles.

Judge Jon S. Tigar gave final approval to American Honda Motor Co. Inc.'s settlement agreement in an order May 9 in the US District Court for the Northern District of California. The class alleged defects in the HandsFreeLink Bluetooth system in certain Acura vehicles that prevented them from properly shutting down, causing excessive drain on car batteries.
