Honda $5 Million Award for Brain Damaged Woman Upheld on Appeal

American Honda Motor Co. lost its bid to undo a nearly $5 million award stemming from a side-impact crash that resulted in debilitating injuries to the front-seat passenger of a CR-V and the driver’s minor concussion.

Evidence supported the jury’s finding that the vehicle was defectively designed, and there was no error in jury instructions, the US Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit said Tuesday.
