Home Depot Arrest Footage Sparks California Judge’s Skepticism

A federal judge grilled attorneys about a video documenting immigration arrests at a Home Depot in a hearing Thursday on a motion to enforce her order requiring due process guardrails for stops and arrests in the agricultural heart of California.

At first, Judge Jennifer Thurston in the US District Court for the Eastern District of California focused on the video’s depiction of people running away from federal agents before being arrested. The video of the US Customs and Border Protection operation was produced by Justice Department attorneys, according to court documents, but hasn’t been made public.
