Holcim to Pay $850,000 Over N.Y. Stormwater Violations (1)

Holcim Inc. has agreed to pay $850,000 to resolve a lawsuit alleging violations of its water pollution permit at its cement plant in New York, according to a filing in a federal court in the state.

The company will develop and implement a best management practices plan, develop an operations and maintenance plan, and obtain a third party audit of its compliance with its State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit, the consent decree said.

Holcim will also be required to develop and implement programs and improvements for its landfills and leachate treatment systems, according to the filing in the U.S. ...
