Hisense, Roku Hit With Patent Lawsuits Over Display Technology

InnoTV Labs filed two separate patent infringement lawsuits against television and streaming device manufacturers Hisense and Roku about patents related to display device technologies.

InnoTV Labs LLC claims the defendants’ smart TVs, LED TVs, and streaming devices infringe on patents originally developed by LG Electronics that InnoTV now owns through assignment, according to two Monday complaints in Texas federal courts. InnoTV is asserting a total of six patent infringement claims against Hisense Co. Ltd. and four against Roku Inc.

A Roku spokesperson said Tuesday that InnoTV’s claims are “meritless” and it will address them in court. Hisense didn’t immediately responded ...
