Hisense Hit With Class Action Suit Over Defective Smart TVs

Hisense USA Corp. is facing a class action lawsuit that says the company sold televisions with defective main boards that caused performance issues like lagging, sluggishness, and software crashes.

The complaint, filed by Matthew Deyell on Sept. 26 in the US District for the Northern District of Georgia, alleges violations of the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act and New York consumer protection laws. Hisense knew its 2019-present 4K Android smart TVs suffered from performance issues caused by defective main boards but failed to disclose the defect to consumers, Deyell says.
