Talent-acquisition firm Hire Velocity LLP is facing a proposed federal class action alleging it negligently failed to protect the personal information of hundreds of current and former clients that was exposed in a February data breach.
Lead plaintiff Celestino Sanchez II alleged that Hire Velocity breached its duties under common law, contract law, industry standards, and the Federal Trade Commission Act to implement reasonable and adequate data-security measures and provide timely and adequate notice of the incident.
