Hill’s Pet Food $12.5 Million False Ad Class Deal Gets Final Nod

Hill’s Pet Nutrition Inc. and dog owners secured a Kansas federal court’s final approval of a $12.5 million class settlement resolving allegations that some specialty food was portrayed as healthful despite Vitamin D levels that could harm dogs.

The Colgate-Palmolive Co. unit reached a fair deal with pet owners, and two class members’ objections lacked merit, Judge Julie A. Robinson of the U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas said July 30.
