Hilco Global Hit With Race Bias Suit by Black Former Executive

A Black ex-associate director at Hilco Trading LLC filed a lawsuit against the financial and advisory services company, alleging race discrimination that led to his termination.

Plaintiff Stephen Savoy claims that Hilco Trading—doing business as Hilco Global—engaged in discriminatory practices based on his race, including subjecting him to unfair scrutiny, denying him opportunities for movement within the company, and ultimately terminating his employment without justification, according to his complaint filed Wednesday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.

Representatives from Hilco didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
