A federal appeals court undid a preliminary injunction on Tuesday that barred the Trump administration from pausing Medicaid reimbursements to health centers offering abortion care.
The US Department of Health and Human Services and other federal officials “made a strong showing at this preliminary stage that they are likely to prevail on the merits,” the US Court of Appeals for the First Circuit said in an opinion, vacating a district court injunction granted earlier this month.
“We conclude that the Federal Defendants have met their burden at this preliminary stage,” the First Circuit said.
