A sales director with Henkel Corporation has sued the company for alleged sex discrimination and hiring and promoting women over men, according to a lawsuit.
James E. Freeman filed suit on Monday claiming Henkel has discriminating against him based on sex in hiring, promotions, and compensation in violation of the Michigan Elliott-Larsen Civil Rights Act.
Freeman alleges his employer has implemented illegal quotas for hiring and promoting women. He asserts Henkel requires managers to hire and promote women without regard to merit in order to meet these quotas.
