Health System Gets Unions’ Kronos Pay Case Win Undone on Appeal

MultiCare Health System can try again to avoid liability for its attempts to recoup wage overpayments stemming from a hack of third-party timekeeping system Kronos, a Washington state appeals court said.

There’s a genuine dispute over whether the health system’s overpayments were infrequent and inadvertent under a state law on recouping wage overpayments, so the trial court shouldn’t have granted summary judgment to three worker unions, the Washington Court of Appeals, Division I, said Monday.
