A Chicago-based integrated data systems and services company failed to protect sensitive health information from a ‘hub-and-spoke’ breach, two plaintiffs said in a proposed class action.
Veradigm, once known as Allscripts Healthcare Solutions, allegedly failed to utilize reasonable security procedures, leading to an attack from a ransomware group, the plaintiffs told the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
The breach included Social Security and phone numbers, as well as medical information, according to the complaint.
