HCA Healthcare Settlement Over July 2023 Data Breach Gets Nod

A HCA Healthcare settlement over a data breach announced in July 2023 that impacted approximately 11 million patients received preliminary approval from a federal court.

The class action settlement is sufficiently fair and reasonable to advance towards final approval, Judge Jack Zouhary of the US District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee said Wednesday. It’s also sufficiently adequate to the class of current patients residing in the US impacted by the breach, Zouhary said.
