Harriet Carter Gifts Inc. and its marketing-services provider NaviStone Inc. defeated a long-running lawsuit alleging they collected data arising from consumers’ interactions with the Harriet Carter website in violation of the Pennsylvania wiretap statute.
Lead plaintiff Ashley Popa implicitly consented to the collection of her data by NaviStone when she agreed to the terms of the Harriet Carter privacy policy, Judge William S. Stickman IV of the US District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania said Monday.
Stickman entered judgment in favor of Harriet Carter and NaviStone.
