Harley-Davidson Hits Online Retailer With Trademark Lawsuit

Harley-Davidson Motor Co. filed a trademark infringement suit against an online retailer for allegedly selling unlicensed products bearing the motorcycle company’s name and logo.

Harley alleges that Sherron Leggett, owner of the website, L1CO.com, “has distributed, offered for sale, and/or sold, at minimum, counterfeit hats bearing H-D’s Bar & Shield Logo and HARLEY-DAVIDSON marks and counterfeit shirts bearing the HARLEY-DAVIDSON, H-D, HD, and Bar & Shield Logo marks” on that site and at least one additional site, according to the complaint filed Wednesday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin.
