Hamas Bank Finance Suit Revival Ruling Taken Up by Supreme Court

Beirut’s BLOM Bank SAL on Friday won US Supreme Court review of a decision that could lead to the revival of a lawsuit by family members of people killed in Hamas attacks, claiming the lender aided and abetted the terror group by providing financing to customers with ties to it.

The US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit earlier this year reversed a trial court-level dismissal of the suit, ruling that US District Judge Kiyo A Matsumoto used an “erroneous” legal framework; Matsumoto decided the plaintiffs could not file an amended complaint following the dismissal of an earlier version. ...
