Halliburton Energy Services Inc. must face wage allegations a worker brought on behalf of California in court after a federal judge rejected its bid to compel arbitration of the claim.
The Halliburton Co. subsidiary sought to move the Private Attorneys General Act claim to arbitration following a recent US Supreme Court ruling on the law in an unrelated case. But a stipulation leaving that claim in court as the parties pursued resolution of others through an outside forum bars forced arbitration now, the US District Court for the Eastern District of California said.
