Hain Celestial Says Lead Baby Food Suit Should Get Thrown Out

Hain Celestial Group Inc. says a suit accusing it of mislabeling organic baby food products as safe and healthy when they allegedly contained heavy metals should be dismissed because the plaintiffs lack standing.

The parents accusing Hain of misrepresenting its products’ safety haven’t shown that the products they actually purchased contained elevated levels of heavy metals or that they didn’t receive what they expected, the baby food maker argues in its motion to dismiss filed Thursday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of New York.
