Independent insurance agency Hafetz & Associates LLC failed to protect the personal information of thousands of people that was exposed during a 2023 data breach that lasted nearly three months, a proposed federal class action said.
Eugene Wendelken alleged that Hafetz failed to take adequate measures to protect sensitive data, properly train employees in data security, monitor its agents and vendors, or comply with industry data-security standards and guidelines of the Federal Trade Commission.
