Gucci America Inc. is facing a lawsuit by Alto Dynamics LLC alleging infringement of patents related to verifying customers’ online user identity, monitoring consumer usage patterns, and a method for converting and manipulating data.
Gucci, through the operation of its website, is infringing five patents held by Alto, according to the complaint filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.
Alto’s allegations of patent infringement cover the systems by which the website allows users to view, search, save, and buy items, enables the tracking of user activities and preferences, and provides user authentication.
