Gucci Fails to Shake Deceptive Ad Suit Over Snake Skin Sourcing

Gucci America Inc. failed to convince a judge to toss a former sales associate’s proposed class action alleging it deceptively advertised its exotic snake and crocodile skins as ethically sourced.

Plaintiff Tracy Cohen didn’t plead facts that would give the court jurisdiction over Kering, the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois said Monday. Kering Americas Inc., the luxury fashion house’s parent company, was released from the suit.
