Cities, non-profits, and community groups on Monday agreed with the Trump administration that their lawsuit challenging the suspension of food stamp funding during last year’s government shutdown was moot and should be dismissed.
The parties told a Rhode Island federal judge that the Nov. 12 funding bill ending the six-week shutdown rendered the dispute over the lapsed funding moot.
