App-based grocery delivery service Getir US Inc. required off-the-clock work during unpaid meal breaks and failed to pay overtime premiums, a new suit in federal court in New York alleges.
Getir, the US outpost of Turkish startup Getir Perakende Lojistik AS, required packers and other hourly in-store personnel to work more than 40 hours a week without compensating them appropriately for overtime, according to the would-be class complaint filed in the US District Court for the Eastern District of New York July 8.
