Grindr Inc. escaped a lawsuit from an underage user who alleged the LGBTQ dating app connected him to men who sexually abused him after a federal appeals court ruled Tuesday that the tech industry’s immunity law blocks the suit.
The lawsuit, filed by a 15-year-old Canadian boy, sought to hold Grindr liable for the content of its users, which is barred by Section 230 of the federal Communications Decency Act, the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit said.
