Green Diamond to Pay $695,000 to Settle Data-Breach Class Action

Green Diamond Resource Co. would pay $695,000 under a proposed deal to settle allegations that it negligently failed to protect the personal information of nearly 28,000 consumers in a 2023 data breach.

Members of the proposed class would be eligible for reimbursement of up to $5,000 each in documented out-of-pocket losses from the breach, a pro rata payment from the net settlement fund, and credit-monitoring services, according to the plaintiffs’ motion for preliminary approval of the settlement.
