Great White Producer Fails to Revive Suit Against UMG Recordings

A manager and producer for the rock band Great White failed to convince a federal appeals court to revive his lawsuit against Universal Music Group over an almost $1 million charge for video expenses.

A three-judge panel for the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit on Friday upheld a lower court’s dismissal of the suit, brought by Alan Niven and his wife Heather Vincent-Niven.

The panel agreed that Niven had failed to file the lawsuit within the statute of limitations, missing the April 2022 deadline by over 17 months.
