GOP-Led States Sue to Undo Biden’s Halt of Offshore Oil Leasing

Five Republican-led states say President Joe Biden’s withdrawal from offshore oil and gas leasing is an unconstitutional display of “unlimited legislative power,” according to a new federal lawsuit Friday.

The suit comes after Biden signed two memorandums on Jan. 6 to withdraw from “disposition by oil or natural gas leasing” from Alaska to the Gulf Coast. President-elect Donald Trump has vowed to undo the move once he returns to the White House.
