Google LLC drew a mixed response from Texas’s newest appeals court in its bid to depose the state in a pair of cases alleging the technology giant unlawfully tracks users’ whereabouts without consent and maintains their facial recognition data.
Justice Scott Field showed support for Google, citing state law that he says clearly lets a party depose any entity with relevant information.
“Am I missing something?” said Field, of the Court of Appeals, Fifteenth District.
