Google LLC failed to escape an antitrust lawsuit from internet search users who allege the tech giant illegally monopolized the search market after a San Francisco federal court ruled they have a plausible legal theory.

Judge Rita F. Lin denied Google’s motion to dismiss the suit Wednesday, finding the proposed class action adequately alleged that consumers would have had a more diverse array of search engines to choose from if it weren’t for Google’s anti-competitive agreements with browser and phone companies.
