Google, Flo App’s $56 Million Privacy Settlement Gets Early Nod

Google LLC and the popular menstrual tracking app Flo Health Inc. received preliminary sign-off Wednesday on their combined $56 million settlements in a data privacy class action over the tracking of personal health data.

Judge James Donato of the US District Court for the Northern District of California in San Francisco said Google’s $48 million and Flo’s $8 million settlement agreements appeared “fair, reasonable, and adequate” for the roughly 12 million class members who used the Flo app.

Donato set a final approval hearing for the settlement on Oct. 29.
