Google Beats Children’s Privacy Suit Over Online Data Collection

Google LLC , YouTube LLC, and several owners of YouTube channels defeated a proposed class action alleging the online portals collected information concerning children who watched their videos in violation of state privacy and consumer-protection laws.

The plaintiffs failed to show that Google’s collection of their children’s personal information in the course of routine commercial operations was “highly offensive” to a reasonable person, Magistrate Judge Susan van Keulen of the US District Court for the Northern District of California said July 1.
