GM Hit With Class Action Over Defective Fuel Pump Allegations

General Motors LLC knowingly sold 2020-2024 Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain vehicles that had defective fuel pumps that could cause unexpected stalling, a proposed class action filed Wednesday says.

The alleged defect interrupts the flow of fuel from the gas tank to the engine, which in turn causes an inability to start the engine, stalling, or premature engine wear, the complaint filed in the US District Court for the District of Delaware says. Consumers from Texas and Florida say discovery will show GM knew about the issue as early as 2019.
