GM Gets Consumer’s Corvette Wheels Claims Sent to Arbitration

General Motors LLC can force one consumer who says the wheels on certain Chevrolet Corvette models are defective to arbitrate his products liability claims, at least for now, a federal judge in Michigan said.

Derrol Turner, who bought a Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport from an authorized Chevy dealer in 2016, signed a purchase agreement including an arbitration clause. GM isn’t a signatory to the purchase agreement, but the automobile manufacturer can still go to an arbitrator for a determination as to whether Turner’s claims are subject to arbitration, the US District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan said. ...
