GM Engineer’s Age Bias, Harassment Suit Loss Upheld on Appeal

General Motors LLC’s saw its victory upheld Tuesday in an engineer’s lawsuit alleging he was repeatedly transferred and harassed because of his age in an effort to push him out after his plant began retooling to produce electric vehicles.

The ruling by the US Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit applied the US Supreme Court’s recent opinion on when an employment action is adverse enough to violate federal job discrimination law, providing some early guidance on how the high court’s ruling may be implemented.
