Former-lawyer Tom Girardi, who was convicted of fraud last year, will spend another 15 days at a prison hospital charged with evaluating his fitness for incarceration, a federal judge ordered while scolding defenders for delaying to send over Girardi’s medical records.
Judge Josephine L. Staton said in a Thursday hearing she found it “troubling” that the public defender’s office didn’t send Girardi’s medical records to officials at Federal Medical Center, Butner until Jan. 17, weeks after the North Carolina hospital requested the information on Dec. 31.
