General Motors Sued Over Employee Health Plan COBRA Notices (1)

General Motors LLC was sued in Michigan federal court by a former employee who says the company sends legally deficient and incomplete notices informing former workers of their right to remain on the company health plan.

Angela Crockett’s proposed class action, filed Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, claims the COBRA notices GM sends to former workers don’t include all legally required information. According to Crockett, GM’s notices violate the COBRA statute by failing to name the health plan administrator or the coverage termination date.
