Generac Gets MDL Claims Trimmed in Defective Generator Suit

Generac Power Systems Inc. must face some claims in a multidistrict litigation suit filed in a federal court in Florida, but its parent company, Generac Holdings Inc., was dismissed from the suit.

Plaintiffs from Florida, who claimed that they bought defective generators from Generac, may continue to pursue their suit against Generac Power after most of the claims were pruned from it, Judge Kathryn Kimball Mizelle said Monday for the US District Court for the Middle District of Florida. But the court didn’t have jurisdiction over Generac Holdings, she said.
