A jury must decide whether Scripps Media Inc. terminated a news anchor at a Tulsa station legally for cause or illegally because of his sexual orientation, a federal judge ruled.
There’s evidence the former general manager of KJRH-TV was biased against the anchor and at least played a role in the decision to terminate his contract, the US District Court for the Northern District of Oklahoma said. It cited remarks by the former manager, including that it could hurt the station if the anchor’s homosexuality became public.
