GasBuddy Inc. falsely touts its mobile app and payment card as a guaranteed way to save money on fuel, failing to disclose that delayed transaction processing puts consumers at risk of incurring bank fees on linked accounts, a new proposed class action alleges.
GasBuddy deceptively markets itself as a service that “effortlessly deducts” funds from linked checking accounts at the time of purchase, “like a debit card,” Ronald Luce alleges in a suit filed Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of New York.
