Gas Express Hit With Lawsuits Over 2024 Breach of Employee Data

Gas Express LLC negligently failed to protect the personal information of employees of its gas stations and convenience stores that was exposed in a May 2024 data breach, three proposed federal class actions said.

Brittany Canup, Quincy Brown, and Clarissa Johnson alleged in separate lawsuits that Gas Express breached its duties under common law, contract law, industry standards, and the Federal Trade Commission Act to implement reasonable and adequate data-security measures and provide timely notice of the breach.
