GardaWorld, Aegis to Face Whistleblower’s Fraud Claim at Trial

GardaWorld Federal Services and Aegis Defense Services LLC will have to face at trial a whistleblower’s claim that the companies defrauded the US State Department under an Afghanistan security services contract performed at various locations, including the embassy in Kabul.

Justin Fahn, a unit support commander for GardaWorld, adequately alleged that the defendants violated the False Claims Act by failing to fully give their employees annual refresher training—or training used to reinforce materials taught in pre-deployment training—as promised, Judge Marc T. Treadwell of the US District Court for the Middle District of Georgia said in an April 12 order.
