Employees of and applicants to Garda Cash, the integrated security and risk company, convinced a federal court to grant final approval to a $1.5 million settlement following a data breach.
The class of approximately 40,000 people pursued claims against several Garda companies after unauthorized actors in 2023 tried to access data relating to current and former employees and applicants. Hackers may have obtained addresses, government identification numbers, and medical information, according to court documents from the US District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
