Gannett Can’t Exit Suit Over Information-Sharing With Facebook

Gannett Co. must keep facing proposed class litigation alleging it violated federal privacy law by disclosing online viewers’ personal information to Facebook without their consent.

USA Today subscriber Serge Belozerov alleged that Gannett hosted a Facebook tracking pixel, a tool that enabled it to track what its users watched on the USA Today website or app and report the information to Facebook for targeted ads.
