Rapper Yaki Kadafi’s mother alleges that the 2023 FX docuseries “Dear Mama” about Tupac Shakur used four of her photos without permission, infringing her copyright.
Yaasmyn Fula published a book—'Spirit of an Outlaw'—about the relationship between Tupac and Kadafi. She said that the creators of the series initially reached out to her “to license certain works” but allegedly “moved forward with exploiting” four photographs from the book without her consent, according to the complaint filed in the US District Court for the Central District of California.
